AUGUSTA, Maine (February 23, 2011) -- The Maine State Foul Shooting Champions for 2011 will be decided at this year's Maine McDonald's® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games. The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) organized competitions earlier this year to determine the regional finalists who will compete for the State Championship during the Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-Star weekend. The State Foul Shooting Competition will be held from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at Husson University in Bangor.
The Regional Foul Shooting Champions are as follows:
BOYS
North Region: Travis Dyer, Presque Isle H.S.
East Region: Bryan James, Lee Academy
Central Region: Josh Turbide - Dirigo H.S.
South Region: Theo Bowe, Cape Elizabeth H.S.
Girls
North Region: Carmen Bragg, Washburn District H.S.
East Region: Abby Pyne, John Bapst Memorial H.S.
Central Region: Danielle Spaulding, Lawrence H.S.
South Region: Frankie Lally, Edward Little H.S.
This year's Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games are scheduled for Saturday, March 12, at Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University in Bangor. The game-day program will feature head-to-head competition between top players in the state in East vs. West basketball action.
Tip-off times for each of the March 12th All-Star Games are as follows:
9:15am -10:30am Boys C/D Game
11:00am-12:15pm Boys A/B Game
1:15pm - 2:30pm Girls A/B Game
3:00pm - 4:15pm Girls C/D Game
Regional foul shooting champions will receive their awards at the MABC/Maine McDonald's All-Star Banquet that begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at Husson University's Newman Gymnasium. Additionally, All-Star players, All-Star coaches, All-State Academic teams, Maine McDonald's Spirit of the Game Award recipients, the MABC Bob Brown Contributor Award honoree, Media Award recipient and Mr. and Miss Basketball also will be recognized at the awards banquet.
Game Day tickets are good for all four games and may be purchased at the door on Saturday, March 12. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and children.
