Maine Red Claws/Maine McDonald’s Team of the Year Award Recipients Announced The Team of the Year Award is based on community service, sportsmanship and academic excellence.
Portland, Maine (March 10, 2012) – Today at the Maine McDonald’s® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games, the two Team of the Year Award recipients were unveiled. The Hampden Academy Boys Team and the Wells High School Girls Team each received the Team of the Year trophy as well as $1,000 for their schools’ basketball programs. Representatives from the Maine Red Claws, Maine McDonald’s and Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) made the announcement during half-time at the All-Star Games.

Bangor, Maine (March 10, 2012) -- The Maine State Foul Shooting Champions were decided on today at the Maine McDonald's Senior All-Star Basketball Games at Husson University in Bangor.
Meryl Bond of Erskine Academy hit 48 out of 50 shots winning the Maine State Foul Shooting competition for the girls. The other three contests – Carmen Bragg of Washburn District H.S.; Angleana Lyons of Machias H.S.; and Olivia Dimick of Freeport H.S. – were all 44 for 50 from the line.

Bangor, Maine (March 9, 2012) – The Maine McDonald's® Owner/Operator Association presented its fourth annual Maine McDonald’s Spirit of the Game Award to Stacia Caron of Presque H.S. and James Blanchard of Windham H.S. The student-athletes received their awards at the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches Awards Banquet on March 9 at Husson University in Bangor. In addition, the recipients each received a $500 Spirit Scholarship to assist with their higher education needs.
